Hashimoto’s & Thyroid Health

Restoring
Thyroid
Health

The human body is amazingly resilient. Transformation happens when we give the body what it needs.

Practicing simple food and lifestyle skills can
lead to resolution and disappearance of nagging symptoms.

It’s a joy and privilege to walk alongside clients as they learn to harness the healing power of food and lifestyle as medicine.

Create Resilience:

  • the capability of a strained body to recover its size and shape after deformation caused especially by compressive stress

  • an ability to recover from or adjust easily to misfortune or change

"Our greatest weakness lies in giving up.
The most certain way to success is always to try just one more time."

Hashimoto’s
Thyroiditis

Hashimoto’s is an autoimmune disease in which the thyroid gland is gradually coming under attack from an overactive immune response. You may not even notice early symptoms as the gland slowly deteriorates.

While that sounds ominous and daunting, there’s hope.

Traditional medicine often relies on thyroid medication as the sole treatment plan. But that fails to address the autoimmune response raging within the body. A functional nutrition and lifestyle approach has more tools in the toolbox (nutrition, every day habits, power of nature, importance of color, breathing, stress modifiers, daily toxin exposures, etc.) that contribute to fixing underlying causes. When causes start resolving, symptoms start disappearing and thyroid damage is minimized.

Not all symptoms disappear for everyone, but the goal is to slow progression of thyroid gland destruction while helping you feel better along the way. This is done by identifying and reducing exposure to foods that create inflammation, reducing common toxin exposures that contribute to destruction of the thyroid and modifying lifestyle practices that hinder healing.

Lifestyle factors like poor sleep, lack of movement and unmanaged stress often contribute to thyroid dysfunction. These factors can be just as inflammatory as some foods and toxins. Reducing inflammation, in all of its forms, is key to resolving symptoms and protecting your thyroid.

The really good news is that people all over the world have found relief from nagging symptoms by fixing root causes, unique to them, by practicing supportive daily life skills. There is HOPE for you too.

Extinguish the flames of inflammation

As a Functional Nutrition and Lifestyle Practitioner, I have a lot of tools in my toolbox. Once we know what’s creating dysfunction for you, we get to work to restore optimal function for your unique situation.

Your roadmap, based on clues uncovered at the scene of your crime and informed by your health story, is created by considering questions like these:

  • Which foods may be inflammatory for you?

  • Are food sensitivities driving inflammation?

  • Are nutrient deficiencies flaring symptoms?

  • Does your immune system require a simple tune up?

  • Is poor gut health impeding progress?

  • Are sleep practices contributing to symptoms?

  • Are you managing daily stressors or is stress a key player to why you feel crummy?

  • Are everyday toxins contributing to thyroid destruction?

  • Are underlying infections, viral, bacterial or fungal causing symptoms?

  • Are toxic relationships creating inflammation?

  • Are you enjoying the healing power of nature?

  • Are structural issues creating dysfunction?

  • Are blue lights and EMFs burdening your thyroid?

These are just a few root causes worthy of exploration. Hopefully you’re starting to see that a functional nutrition toolbox is extensive and diverse. Any and all factors can contribute to destruction of your thyroid gland.

Let’s start extinguishing your unique flames before you thyroid gland burns out.
